The Barbirolli competition starts tomorrow in Port Erin, The Isle of Man and competitors and jurors are on their way there today. Including me! In addition to the competition itself, I will be giving a presentation on Sunday evening and there will be masterclasses on Monday and Wednesday by Han de Vries and Maurice Bourgue.
Today I launch my new website, complete with this web log! This is a good time for me to start writing a blog, having completed my involvement in Susanna Mälkki’s Mahler 10 and Schönberg Erwartung concerts in The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam and my own performances of concerti by Vivaldi and Handel with DECO in Lichfield.
